Our experts know what it takes to build a quality wooden planter. Here at Taylor Made Planters, we’ve got years of experience supplying plant containers in a variety of materials, and we specialise in building durable outdoor planters made from softwood and hardwood.
Our customers can choose the size and shape of their timber planter, as well as the colour and finish. Once we know what the spec is, our team can get to work.
So how do we build a quality wooden planter box? Here’s the Taylor Made Planters 4 step guide:
Step 1: The timber posts are mortised 25mm deep and sanded.
Step 2: Next the timber panels are measured to size and each panel is securely glued and screwed to the posts.
Step 3: The bearings and bottoms are screwed in place and the planter is fully lined. All 4 sides are lined with 300 micron DPM liner and the bottom is lined with a permeable membrane to allow drainage and prevent water log.
Step 4: Next a choice of finial and stain is added to the timber for a show room finish. Our wood is pressure treated with Wolmanit CX to prevent the timber from rotting, ensuring that our designs are long lasting.
Whether you need large timber planters for a roof terrace, extra large planter boxes for a commercial project, wooden troughs for a courtyard, or a round planter for trees, we can build a plant container to your specification.
