How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Our wooden planters are handmade in our joinery shop, and we aim to deliver bespoke orders within 4 – 6 weeks of the order date. However, please note that timescales can vary depending on individual requirements and different times of the year. Standard sizes of our contemporary planters are in stock, so these can be delivered within approximately 14 days of receiving your order.

How much is delivery?

Taylor Made Planters delivers most orders for free across most of the UK mainland. However, there are restrictions for these postcodes: AB, DD, DG, EH, FK, G, KA, KY ,KW ,LD ,ML, PA & PH.

How do I get a quote for a custom planter?

Do your wooden planters come lined or do they need lining?

Our timber planters are lined with a 300 Micron Eco DPM liner on the vertical faces and a permeable membrane in the base to allow for drainage. Planters from the contemporary range do not require lining, as they arrive ready to plant up.

What guarantees are offered?

We use high-quality and sustainable timber to build our wooden planters. Each product comes with a 10-year timber guarantee and is pressure treated to prevent rot. Our planters are non-toxic and last 50+ years. Our contemporary planters come with a 5+ year manufacturer’s guarantee, which may vary between products.

Can your outdoor planters be painted?

Yes, we can paint 99% of our planters in any RAL colour of your choice.

What material is best for outdoor planters?

We offer an extensive range of traditional and contemporary materials to suit a wide range of purposes. Timber is highly durable and flexible, so it’s great for bespoke designs and commercial projects. We also use quality materials like terracotta, metal and fibreglass, which offer different looks and colours and vary in weight and style.

Where does your timber come from?

We recognise the importance of sustainable timber and guarantee that all of our products are crafted using only high-quality, certified wood that is legally harvested.

Can I order a one-off plant pot for my garden?

Yes, while we’re highly experienced at completing large orders and bespoke designs, our online shop offers standard shapes and sizes for you to choose from online. Alternatively, let us know the dimensions and material that you need for your plant pot, and we’ll give you a free quote for a custom build.

Do you have containers in extra large sizes?

Yes, we have small to extra-large sizes available in our product range. We also frequently work with councils and commercial businesses to deliver extra-large street planters and business containers that are fit for purpose.

What is the best wood for garden containers?

Cedar and redwood are the most favoured for wooden garden pots. Cedar has long-lasting qualities and natural resistance to rotting and fungi, as it contains natural oils that preserve the wood’s quality. Redwood has a similar resistance, as well as a smooth appearance and beautiful red tone that will enrich any exterior space. Here at Taylor Made Planters, we use a selection of high-quality hardwood and softwood, including redwood, cedar, pine, iroko, accoya and yellow balau, any of which will last for many years to come if maintained properly.
