Commercial Grade Fibreglass Rainwater (SuDS) Planter

Our Rainwater (SuDS) planters are made from Commercial grade Fibreglass to yield a 30 + Year practically maintenance free product. Available in almost any shape or size required with the option of interlinking multiple planters via our connectable piping system. A whole multitude of finishes are available from textures and smooth finishes in any RAL, Pantone, NCS or BS colours aswell as specialist finishes from Metallics, Corten, Aged Lead Naturals such as Concrete or Terracotta through to a Premium Stone finish. These are a uniquely designed rain gardens which capture rainwater run-off from the roofs or Domestic, Commercial or Industrial building, rather than leaving it to flow into the drains and sewers and potentially overloading the system and causing flooding.

​Once installed, the planters are filled with a mix of Mulch, Topsoil & grit designed to filter the runoff rainwater. Directly beneath the downpipe from the roof a mini Stone Gabion style wire basket is placed which prevents erosion of the mulch and topsoil layers slowing the flow. A purposely designed piping system near the base of the planter then stores and slowly distributes the flow helping to prevent the overloading of the sewer systems in high rainfall.

A high-level overflow spout above the surface of the growing layer helps controls water levels during extreme rainfall.

Although all new housing developments are now built with separate foul and surface water drainage systems, there are still over 31,000 combined sewer overflows (CSOs) throughout the UK.

Along with the huge number of CSOs still in operation and the thousands of miles of combined sewers, surface water runoff also contributes to poor water quality in our streams, rivers, lakes & oceans.

Rainwater (SuDS) Planters help to reduce water pollution in a couple of ways:

1) By reducing the frequency of CSO discharges during rainfall events.

2) By removing many of the pollutants that are often present in rain runoff from roofs, such as sediment, bird droppings, metals from some roofing materials and deposits from air pollution as the water is naturally filtered through the various layers of the planter.

The Iroko Versailles Planter is built using handpicked Iroko timber which has beautiful rich tones. This durable hardwood is crafted to create a thick internal framework with thick posts that guarantees maximum strength and suitability for outdoors. Available in a wide range of shapes and sizes..

LINER – 300 micron Eco Dpm liner with a permeable matting that covers the base to allow drainage as standard, can be upgraded to a GRP (Fibreglass) liner if required.

MATERIALS – 4 X 70mm posts , internal framework made of 33mm x 33mm pressure treated pine as standard but can be upgraded to 46mm x 33mm Iroko, vertical slats and horizontal bars made of 20mm x 92mm Hand Picked Iroko . All endgrain of Pressure Treated Pine Framework treated with an endgrain treatment.

FINISHES –  Our Iroko Versailles planters come in a Natural Finish as Standard, but can be upgraded to an Oiled finish whereby we apply 2 coats of Danish Oil for a more luxurious lutre and added protection.

Commercial Grade Corten Steel Planters

• Pre-Weathered Option – Can be treated after manufacture to arrive pre-weathered/rusted
• Highly corrosion resistant  –  Corten steel resists all weather conditions without maintenance. Once weathered into in to its infamous orange brown colour, this thin layer of oxidation protects the steel from any further corrosion.
• Be-spoke  –  We can supply our Corten steel planters in be-spoke shapes and sizes.

Our Corten Steel planters are crafted from thick Corten Steel that naturally weathers into a stunning shade of orange brown. The rusted appearance gives a warm, natural look. This looks amazing but also acts as a protective layer against corrosion. This gives Corten Steel planters excellent longevity when placed outdoors and makes them a highly popular choice for residential gardens and business spaces.

As standard, Corten Steel containers are delivered in an un-rusted state as the weathering process will take about 5-9 months to complete.

We can offer a pre-weathered service whereby the planters are chemically treated so they arrive with you pre-weathered/rusted.

Our planters are also fitted with 15mm high feet to raise the plant pot off the ground and come with drainage holes. This model is also available with 90mm legs, this is a great addition for ease of movement when full in public or commercial areas as this gives plenty of clearance for any type of pallet/pump truck or fork lift etc…
